The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships are intended to improve access to and completion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) tertiary education courses for students from a regional or remote area in Australia.

The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships will improve educational attainment, skills development, and employment opportunities for regional and remote students. Through studying STEM, scholarship recipients will obtain important occupational skills, as well as strengthening their foundational literacies, socio-emotional skills and higher-order cognitive skills. They will be better equipped to adapt to the changing nature of work in a technologically advanced economy.

The Program will support at least 1200 undergraduate, postgraduate and Vocational Education and Training (VET) students to undertake a STEM qualification, including in the fields of health and agricultural science. Scholarship recipients may receive total scholarship funding up to $18,000, based on course length and type of study or training.
