The Vera May Swift Scholarship was established by a gift from Vera May Swift to support undergraduate students studying English at the University of Adelaide.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be a first year student intending to major in English in subsequent years of study
- Be enrolled in the first year of one of the following programs (or equivalent)
- Bachelor of Arts
- Bachelor of Arts (Advanced)
- Bachelor of Arts with Bachelor of Economics
- Bachelor of Arts with Bachelor of Music
- Bachelor of Arts with Bachelor of Science
- Bachelor of Creative Arts
- Bachelor of International Relations with Bachelor of Arts
- Bachelor of Media with Bachelor of Arts
- Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) with Bachelor of Arts or
- Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) with Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA from semester 1)
- Answers to questions on the application form
Important Information:
- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
