The Hospital Research Foundation Group’s mission is to support health and wellbeing for the South Australian community through life-changing research and improved healthcare. In partnership with the University of Adelaide and SA Health, The Hospital Research Foundation Group is providing funding to support The Hospital Research Foundation Group - SA Health Scholarship in Public Health with research aimed at addressing current priority public health issues in South Australia (e.g. Health Promotion, Food Safety, Water Safety, Disease Surveillance, Climate Change). Individuals awarded these scholarships will have the optimum research training experience, co-supervised by global research leaders within the University of Adelaide and SA Health.

The successful candidates will develop an in-depth knowledge of public health policy and practice in target areas. Depending on the project, the candidates will work closely with academics, public health and community organisations and leaders in health policy and public health; and, develop skills in systematic literature reviews, management and analysis of large datasets, quantitative evaluation, qualitative interviewing and analysis, project management, intervention development, and consumer engagement. The candidates will also be given the opportunity to participate in local and national conferences and submit papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Ultimately, these projects will contribute to the improvement of priority health issues in South Australia.

Available projects are listed below, however, for further information on the projects please contact Jaklin Eliott (jaklin.eliott@adelaide.edu.au):

  • Strategies to improve guideline-adherent sexual healthcare in General Practice
