The Newmont Australia Scholarship was established by Newmont Australia to support students undertaking an undergraduate program of study at the University of Adelaide and offer a 12 week paid internship to scholarship recipients. 

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:

• Be undertaking the second year of one of the following programs:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mining)
  • Bachelor of Science
  • Bachelor of Science (Mineral Geoscience)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Chemical) with Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Chemical) with Bachelor of Science
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mining) with Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences or 
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mining) with Bachelor of Science
• Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
• Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

• Academic merit (GPA)
• Answers to questions on the application form

Important Information:

• Newmont Australia will offer a 12-week paid internship to the recipient, which may be from November to February in each given year or another time agreed between Newmont Australia and the Scholarship recipient, which will be based in either New South Wales or Western Australia
• You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
• The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
• Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
