The JC Stobie Scholarship in Engineering has been established by Dr Peter Stobie in honour of his father James Cyril Stobie (1895 – 1953) BE 1923, ME 1932, ASASM, FRAIEE, FRAIE. In Mr Stobie’s position as head of the Design Department at the Adelaide Electric Company, later ETSA, he was responsible for the employment and encouragement of students and developing professional engineers. Before graduation, he designed the pole which carries his name.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be undertaking the second year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical)
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Answers to questions on the application form
Important Information:
- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
