The Angas Engineering Scholarship was established by the Honourable John Howard Angas MLC in 1878. The scholarship was to be used to pay for fees and overseas travel associated with professional development for engineering scholars.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be undertaking second, third, fourth or fifth year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Civil) or associated double degrees
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Have the coursework component of the overseas study pre-approved by the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology prior to an application for enrolment being made, and applicants must submit evidence of approval to study from the overseas Host Organisation as part of the application process.
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form
Important Information:
- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the semester in which it is offered
- This scholarship will go towards travel and living costs for overseas study which contributes to the award of the student's second or third year of study
- Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
