The J.J Bray Law Exchange Scholarship was established in 2003 from the generosity of members of the South Australian Legal Fraternity and the proceeds of the Portrait of John Bray and Dame Roma Glimpses of a Glorious Life Volumes.

One scholarship is available to a student undertaking the Bachelor of Laws program of student at the University of Adelaide. 

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia undertaking study as a Commonwealth supported student and be enrolled on a full-time basis in the program for which the scholarship was approved.

Applicants must also be accepted for one or two semesters to one of the University of Adelaide's official exchange programs. Commencement of the exchange must be within 12 months of the scholarship being awarded.

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to academic merit and financial need.

Academic merit for continuing student will be determined according to students' cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or equivalent scores.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits or other details of their financial circumstances.

The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered: acceptance of the Scholarship cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.

Students in receipt of other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship.
