The R.G. Willoughby Scholarship was established from a donation to the University of Adelaide from the Australian Dental Association and friends and colleagues of the late Roger George Willoughby, tutor in the University's Dental School from 1949 to 1968 and Warden of the Senate 1960 to 1968, for the purpose of establishing an award in his memory.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be undertaking second or third year of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia or New Zealand Citizen
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form

- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
