The Rae Kennedy Scholarship in Medicine for Mature Age Students has been established by Rae Kennedy to support one scholarship in perpetuity for a mature age student in financial need.  

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:

  • Be commencing or undertaking the first, second or third year of the Bachelor of Medical Studies or Doctor of Medicine 
  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
  • Demonstrate you are in financial need*
  • Applicants must be 22 years of age or older at the time of application.

* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

  • Academic merit (GPA or ATAR)
  • Financial need
  • Answers to questions on the application form
  • Preference to a student undertaking first or second year of the Bachelor of Medical Studies

Important Information:

  • You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
  • The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
  • Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
