The Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund commemorates the achievements of two distinguished South Australian pioneer aviators - Captain Sir Ross Smith K.B.E., M.C., D.F.C., A.F.C., and his brother Lieutenant Sir Keith Smith K.B.E. The scholarship was established to support students who are undertaking a program of study in the field of Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology at the University of Adelaide.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must: 
  • Be undertaking the Honours component in the fourth or final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical) with Bachelor of Mathematical & Computer Science, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical) with Bachelor of Science, or the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical) with Bachelor of Finance and Banking
  • Be undertaking an Honours project relevant to aeronautical or aerospace engineering
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
  • Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
  • Academic merit (GPA)
  • Answers to questions on the application form

  • The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
  • Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
