The Hilda and Sandy Anderson Scholarship has been established by Penelope and Caesar Zucchi and Fiona Anderson and Nimish Pandey in memory of their parents and parents in law, Sylvia and Alexander Anderson.  The Scholarship supports undergraduate students commencing a program of study in the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences or Faculty of Sciences at the University of Adelaide.

One scholarship shall be awarded annually to a commencing student who accepts a place in a program of study in any of the following disciplines:

  • Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Biomedical)
  • Health & Medical Sciences (Dentistry, Nursing, Oral Health, Psychology, Medicine)
  • Sciences (Physical, Veterinary, Agricultural, Biological)

Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia or holders of a permanent humanitarian visa undertaking study as a Commonwealth supported student and must remain enrolled on a full time basis in the approved program for which the Scholarship was approved.

Selection of the successful candidates will be made according to academic merit and financial need.  Preference will be given to a student who has relocated from a regional, rural or remote location to undertake study at the University of Adelaide.  Academic merit for commencing students will be determined according to ATAR or equivalent scores.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.

The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which they are offered: acceptance of the Scholarship cannot be be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.

Students in receipt of other University of Adelaide Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship.
