The Adelaide Dickens Fellowship has been established by the School of Humanities to support two undergraduate students who are undertaking an English program of study at the University of Adelaide.
Two scholarships are available to students in their second year of the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) program (including double degrees) and must be majoring in English. These scholarships will provide assistance with education and living costs for one year.
These scholarships are available to students who are an Australian citizens, Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand citizens or holders of a permanent humanitarian visa and must be undertaking study on a full time basis as a Commonwealth supported student at the University of Adelaide.
Selection of the successful applicants will be made according to academic merit and financial need.
Academic merit for continuing students will be determined according to students' cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or equivalent scores.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the Scholarship offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.
Students in receipt of other major University of Adelaide scholarships may apply for this scholarship.
