The Jewel Stevens Scholarship was established by Ernest William Stevens, in memory of his late wife Jewel Stevens. Jewel Stevens was a scholarship tenable at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. 

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a student of classical piano in the Centre for Young Musicians in the Open Music Academy of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, or failing a suitable candidate in piano, a student of violin 

If there is no suitable candidate enrolled in the Centre for Young Musicians in the Open Music Academy of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, the scholarship may be awarded to a candidate who is:

  • Commencing or continuing in the Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance) or Bachelor of Music (Advanced) who is taking the piano or violin as the Major Instrument Study
  • Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

  • Academic merit (GPA or ATAR)
  • Auditions, performances or interviews relevant to the Elder Conservatorium of Music

Important Information:

  • There is no application process for this scholarship, it will be directly awarded
  • You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible
  • The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
  • No recipient may hold the scholarship for more than three years
  • Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may be eligible for this Scholarship
