The JE Jenkins Scholarship was established by the late John Evan Jenkins to support students undertaking an undergraduate program in Agriculture, Social Sciences or Sociology at the University of Adelaide.
Two Scholarships are available to commencing and continuing students enrolled in an Agriculture, Social Sciences or Sociology program.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens undertaking study as a Commonwealth supported student and remain enrolled on a full time basis in the program for which the Scholarship was approved.
Applicants must be residents at one of the residential colleges affiliated with the University of Adelaide (Aquinas College, Lincoln College, St. Ann's College, St. Mark's College, Kathleen Lumley College or Roseworthy Residential College) or in other University affiliated accommodation (The Village, Mattanya Housing, The University of Adelaide floor at Urbanest or University subsidised accommodation).
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to academic merit. Preference will be given to students who have served in the Commonwealth armed forces or who have relocated from outside of metropolitan Adelaide.
Academic merit for commencing students will be determined according to ATAR or equivalent scores. Academic merit for continuing students will be determined according to students’ cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or equivalent scores.
The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered: acceptance of the Scholarship cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.
Students in receipt of other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship.
