The Decie Denholm Scholarship in Music has been established by a bequest from Decie Denholm. The scholarship supports advanced musical training at either the Elder Conservatorium of Music or overseas institutions (such as a major conservatoire, academy, college, or school of music) or through a program of private study with an eminent teacher either in Australia or overseas. This provision for private study is in recognition of the fact that some of the world's most distinguished teachers do not have an institutional affiliation. 

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:

• Be enrolled in an undergraduate, postgraduate coursework or postgraduate research program at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, or:
• Be a recent graduate of no more than five years of the Elder Conservatorium of Music
• Be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident of Australia
• Provide documentary evidence of advanced musical training, such as an itinerary, details of advanced musical training, proposed travel and budget at the time of application

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

• Academic and musical achievements
• Answers to questions on the application form

Important Information:

• You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
• Should the recipient not proceed with their planned travel and/or study and payments has already been made to the recipient, then the funds are to be repaid to the University as agreed by the recipient and the University
• The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
• Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
