The Yaitya Tipanthi Bursary was created to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and provide financial assistance to complete their chosen award at the University of Adelaide.

Up to three bursaries may be offered per year to assist with study or living expenses associated with placements, internships, fieldwork or other expenses.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent undertaking student as a Commonwealth supported student and must remain enrolled on a full-time basis.

Selection of the successful candidates will be made according to academic merit and demonstrated financial need.

Academic merit for commencing students will be determined according to ATAR or equivalent scores. 

Academic merit for continuing students will be determined according to students’ cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or equivalent scores.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.

The Bursary must be taken up in the year in which it is offered: acceptance of the Bursary cannot be deferred. 

Students in receipt of other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Bursary.
