The University of Adelaide and Defence Science and Technology (DST) group have identified a growing global demand for researchers with skills and experience in quantum technologies. Thus, we have come together to create two PhD scholarships that can immediately benefit from recent advances in experimental quantum physics:
- Portable Atomic Clocks, and
- Quantum Magnetometry

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian Citizens, who are acceptable as candidates for higher degree by research at the University of Adelaide. Applicants must have completed and been awarded a relevant Bachelor Degree with Honours or equivalent.
Stipend: The scholarship provides a living allowance for up to 3 years, with a possible 6 month extension and has a stipend of $40,000 per annum tax free. An additional $20,000 per annum is available to support international and domestic travel, equipment and other project costs.

All eligible domestic students who enrol in a higher degree by research program at the University of Adelaide will be allocated an Australian Government Research Training Program Fees Offset Scholarship which entitles the holder to up to four years of full time fee funding for a doctoral degree.
