Eligibility

Applicants must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or an international student who is able to meet the eligibility criteria to study for a PhD at the University of Adelaide in the stated field. Noting that for Theme 1, there is an additional requirement for applicants to hold an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Mathematics. 

 

Stipend

The scholarship will be for 3.5 years and has a stipend of $36,000 per annum. 

It is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval. 

Transition to Adelaide University

By 01 January 2026, the University of Adelaide and UniSA will have merged to create a brand-new institution, Adelaide University. In the lead up to this historic event, the Scholarship application process will be affected.  

 

Application Process 

Scholarship applications received between now [July] and the end of 2025 will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. This is to ensure applicants receive the correct information most applicable to their circumstances. Please be aware that during the lead up to December 2025, responses times maybe longer than previously experienced, so please be remain patient and courteous to all those behind the scenes making this merger a reality.
