PhD Internship Opportunity with Cleard Life– One opportunity is available for PhD students undertaking research in disciplines related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer science.
Organisational Overview
Cleard Life is an innovative organization specialising in AI-driven security clearance management solutions. Their current project focuses on integrating large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4 to enhance security vetting processes for government and enterprise clients.
Internship Project Overview:
This internship opportunity has been created to enable you to contribute to Cleard Life’s AI-driven security vetting system by designing new system architectures, integrating LLMs, transcriptions, TTS, STT and supporting the development of cutting-edge solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a leading-edge Defence project.
During the internship, you will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience while working alongside a team of developers, guided by experienced software architects for the implementation of solutions for real-world applications.
You will be supported through an Internship Scholarship co-funded by Defence Trailblazer and Cleard Life providing a stipend at a rate of $1,200 per week on a full-time basis.
Internship activities may include:
- System Architecture Design: Assisting in analysing and developing the architecture for Cleard Life’s AI-powered security vetting system.
- AI and LLM Integration: Working on integrating large language models (e.g., GPT-4) to automate interviews and vetting processes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Assisting in preparing technical documentation and reports on system performance and development progress.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently enrolled University of Adelaide PhD students undertaking research in the field of computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence or a related discipline.
- Applicants must be citizens of a Five Eyes country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States). Preference will be given to Australian citizens able to obtain an Australian government clearance.
- Applicants must be familiar with AI/ML technologies and have an interest in large language models like GPT-4o, using weights and biases.
- Applicants must possess strong knowledge of software architecture and system design principles.
Additional Information:
The internship is anticipated to commence in November 2024 and will be offered on a part-time basis (2-3 days/week) over a 6-month period, for a minimum of 60 business days. The internship is likely to be undertaken remotely.
The student will be appropriately supervised by a qualified staff member.
This internship will suit a student with strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with a remote team.
At the conclusion of the project, full-time employment opportunities may be available for suitable candidates interested in future employment with Cleard Life Support Vetting Agency.
