Project description

The Industry Engagement PhD Scholarship is funded by Faculty of Sciences to support a full-time PhD student who is commencing research in plant-microbe interactions. We are recruiting a PhD student (Australian citizen/ Permanent Resident preferred) to work on our recent ARC Linkage project. The student will identify mechanisms that assist beneficial microbes (bacteria and fungi) to provide improved crop nutritional growth by employing multiple techniques including microbiology and plant culture and analysis in glasshouse, laboratory and field experimentation. Expected outputs will assist in the development of crops with improved performance with an improved understanding of how plants interact with beneficial microbes.
