The Training Centre for Integrated Operations for Complex Resources is funded by the Australian Research Council to support 16 full time Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students who will undertake inter-disciplinary research in mining engineering, mineral processing, metallurgy, chemical engineering, biochemistry, geostatistics, applied geology, mechanical engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics and related areas. Please see details below for remaining 3 available projects to be filled.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia or onshore international students who are acceptable as candidates for a HDR degree at one of the host universities (University of Adelaide or University of South Australia)

Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Stipend:  The scholarship will be for 3.5 years (PhD projects) and has a stipend of $34,938 per annum (indexed annually). It is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval.  

International applicants should be aware that the cost of mandatory Overseas Student Health Cover is not provided by this scholarship.

Available projects (all projects are available to students enrolling at the University of Adelaide unless otherwise indicated):

HDR1. Cross-borehole seismic interferometry to interpolate rock mass and geometallurgical variables (University of Adelaide).

HDR3. Wireless sensor network radio frequency identification for continuously deployable tagging (University of Adelaide).

HDR16. Linking the resource to down-stream products (University of Adelaide).
