The ARC PhD Scholarship – (Model selection and optimal inference in moment condition models) is funded by funding body Australian Research Council to support a full time PhD student who is commencing research in Econometrics and Statistics:

This scholarship is supported by an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant, DP200101498 and the successful student will be supervised by A/Prof Firmin Doko Tchatoka. Topics include: GMM inference under mixed identification in high dimensional setting, Model selection in big data setting, Revisiting weak instruments issues in macroeconomic models.

Eligibility: To be considered for this scholarship, students should be eligible to enrol as a commencing student in a full-time PhD research program in the School of Economics. This opportunity is available to both domestic and international students with Honours or Master degree in Economics or Statistics who have developed strong skills in Econometrics or statistics. 

Stipend:  The scholarship will be for up to 3 years from commencement and has a stipend of $28,092 per annum (Indexed annually). It is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval.
