The William T Southcott Major Scholarship In nuclear medicine research provides support for HDR students undertaking original research in the field of advanced Medical Research in Nuclear Medicine or in a closely related field.

 

Eligibility:

To hold the award, applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, Permanent Humanitarian visa holder, or international student;
  • be enrolled in a PhD program in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences the field of medicine known as nuclear medicine; or a field of academic study where a substantial component of the work undertaken uses nuclear medicine-based techniques; or a field of academic study where the work undertaken advances knowledge in the use or application of molecular imaging to understand the pathophysiology and management of disease.

 

Value and Tenure

The award will be a major scholarship worth $38,830 per annum (2025 rate, tax-free and indexed annually).
