The Centre for Augmented Reasoning are offering nine (9) scholarships available across eight projects which are funded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment to support full-time PhD students who are commencing research in machine learning with a focus on augmented reasoning. The Centre supports Advanced Reasoning research through grants and PhD scholarships, facilitating innovation and rapid commercialisation, and increasing AI literacy and engagement in Australia.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia OR international students who are acceptable as candidates for a PhD degree at the University of Adelaide.  Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Stipend:

There will be 5x standard 3 year scholarships with a possible 6 month extension, and 4x 4 year scholarships available to suitable applicants. Female applicants and those from other disciplines are encouraged to apply. The scholarships will be for up to 4 years and have a stipend of $40,000 per annum (indexed annually). The scholarships are likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval.
