The ECMS HDR Travelling Scholarship was established in 2019 by the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (ECMS). A number of awards are available annually to support higher degree by research students who present study-related research at peer-reviewed conferences (interstate or overseas). Applications are open to HDR candidates from all fields of study in ECMS, but priority of awards will be given to applicants in computer science and mathematical sciences due to limited scholarship funding available in computer science and mathematical sciences currently.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens/permanent residents of Australia or international students who are currently enrolled in:

  • the second year full-time of a MPhil (or part-time equivalent) in The Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences; or
  • the second or third year full-time of a PhD (or part-time equivalent) in The Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences.

Please refer to the Scholarship Rules for further eligibility requirements.

The amount of award to individual applicants and the number of Scholarships available may vary from year to year, depending on the available funds and the number of applications.  The total amount available for award in 2020 is $25,000.

Scholarship recipients with caring responsibilities may apply for support from the ECMS Dependant Travel Fund.

Application form and the rules detailing terms and benefits can be found via the links below.
