The E W Benham Research scholarships are the result of the generosity of a bequest by Edward Warner Benham, a prominent lawyer, following the death of his widow Violet Margaret Benham.
Eligibility: Applicants must be domestic students commencing a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Masters by research program at the University of Adelaide. New scholarships shall be awarded subject to available funding. One scholarship is available to a student undertaking research in English Literature and one scholarship is available to a student undertaking research in English Political History. Selection will be based on academic merit and research potential.
Stipend: The scholarship will be for 3 years and has a stipend equivalent to the ARC Postgraduate Researcher rate, indexed annually. It is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval.
