The Adelaide Graduate Research School (AGRS) and the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia (HACCI SA) are partnering to create three internship opportunities for University of Adelaide PhD students, to contribute to the following projects.

 

About the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia

HACCI SA is a network of businesses and professionals who desire a united voice in advocating for and supporting a collective vision for the future of the Hellenic business diaspora. It fosters connection, interaction, and exchanges of knowledge and ideas between its South Australian members through business networking and professional development opportunities. HACCI SA is in the process of developing several key initiatives and are looking to engage three HDR interns from the University of Adelaide to support these projects.

 

Internship 1: Research and Development of a Marketing Plan

Position Title: Marketing Plan Research and Development Intern

Duration: Three months

Description: The Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia (HACCI SA) is seeking a dedicated and innovative intern to assist in the research and development of a comprehensive marketing plan. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on strategic marketing initiatives that will enhance the Association’s visibility and engagement within the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify target demographics and key marketing channels.
  • Analyse current marketing trends and best practices in the industry.
  • Develop a strategic marketing plan that includes social media, digital marketing, and traditional advertising methods.
  • Collaborate with team members to create marketing materials and content.
  • Present findings and marketing strategy recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program with a focus on marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

Internship 2: Research and Development of a Membership Plan

Position Title: Membership Plan Research and Development Intern

Duration: Three months

Description: Join the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI SA) as an intern to develop a strategic membership plan aimed at increasing member engagement and retention. This role involves comprehensive research and analysis to craft a plan that meets the needs of our diverse membership base.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on current membership trends and best practices within similar organizations.
  • Analyse membership data to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
  • Develop a membership plan that includes recruitment strategies, engagement activities, and retention programs.
  • Work with the membership team to implement and test new initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:

Enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program with a focus on business management, organisational development, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with membership management software is a plus.

 

Internship 3: Research and Development for a Business App

Position Title: Business App Research and Development Intern

Duration: Three months

Description: The Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI SA) is looking for a tech-savvy and innovative intern to contribute to the research and development of a new business app. This position provides a hands-on opportunity to work on a project that will enhance the digital capabilities of the Association and provide value to its members.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on existing business apps and identify features that can be beneficial for the Association.
  • Analyse user needs and preferences to inform app design and functionality.
  • Develop a detailed project plan for the app’s development, including timelines and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to create a prototype of the app.
  • Test the app and gather feedback for further improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program with a focus on information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with app development processes and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

The internship start date is negotiable, though they are anticipated to commence in mid-2024.

 

Eligibility:  The PhD student must be:  

  • within the first 18 months of their candidature,  
  • willing to undertake the research internship for a minimum duration of 60 FTE business days,  
  • making satisfactory progress, and  
  • undertaking research in an area aligned with the proposed research internship project

Please note that applications will be considered on a rolling basis and the advertisement may be closed earlier if a suitable applicant is shortlisted for a particular project prior to the listed closing date. Furthermore, if shortlisted, a meeting is likely to be organised between the student, their supervisor and the organisation's focal contact person within a week of shortlisting. Students may consider discussing their internship plans with their Principal Supervisor in anticipation of that.
