On behalf of the Lillian de Lissa Trust Fund Board, we would like to announce the launch of the 2024 Lillian de Lissa Scholarship for masters by research students in the field of Early Childhood Education.

The Board is excited to open applications to first year students, or students beginning their second year of undertaking a master by research, or those who are planning to undertake a master by research in the field of Early Childhood Education within the next 12 months.

Scholarships are valued at $25,000 per annum for domestic and international students and $37,000 per annum for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Students, an additional travel stipend is also being offered to successful applicants.

The Lillian de Lissa Trust Fund was established in 1977 to assist advanced or postgraduate studies or research in the pre-school field in memory of the late Lillian de Lissa who established the Kindergarten Union of South Australia and was the director of the first free kindergarten in Adelaide.  The Board has developed this new scholarship as they believe research and inquiry generate new knowledge and understandings about early learning and development that can profoundly influence practice to achieve the best possible outcomes for every child.
