ATSE’s Elevate: Boosting Diversity in STEM program (“Elevate”) will award up to 500 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships to women and non-binary people in STEM. The Elevate program provides a scholarship, access to events and networking, mentoring, and ongoing support during scholars’ university studies
The postgraduate category is valued at up to $150,250 over up to 3.5 years for a PhD (see Elevate website as payment varies dependent on program).
Eligibility:
Applicants are required to meet three eligibility criteria:
- Identify as a woman or non-binary person
- Be enrolling as a domestic student at an Australian university
- Be planning to undertake a STEM degree or a higher degree to improve business acumen (Leadership category only), commencing in 2026.
Postgraduate Scholarships are for applicants commencing either a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy, Master by Research or Master by Coursework in a priority discipline area. Prospective applicants applying for a Postgraduate Scholarship, must identify, or plan to identify, a research project in an applied domain in a research team at an Australian university.
Postgraduate studies that will be favourably considered include:
- resources
- transport
- medical science
- defence capability
- renewables and low emission technologies
- agriculture, forestry and fisheries
- enabling capabilities (such as engineering, data science, robotics, quantum)
