The purpose of the fellowships is to provide assistance for travel to enable the University’s postgraduate scholars to pursue some aspects of their research and investigations outside the State of South Australia.

Applicants are required to submit an application in consultation with their Principal Supervisor, on the prescribed form by the closing date, for travel in 2025.  Retrospective applications will not be considered.

Eligibility:

Students must:

  • be enrolled full-time in a higher degree by research at the University of Adelaide
  • have been enrolled for more than 12 months at time of travel
  • provide reasons why research cannot be undertaken at the University of Adelaide

Applications will be assessed based on:

  • academic merit as well as other factors, such as
  • the essential nature of the travel to a scholar’s research project and
  • the likely benefit to be derived by the scholar and the University.

Please note, the fellowship will not be awarded:

  • to students who are in their first year of candidature, or their final year of candidature
  • where travel is not relevant to the research they are undertaking
  • where the request relates to conference attendance or conference presentations
  • where applications are retrospective
  • to international students requesting to travel to their home country

Value:  up to a maximum of $5,000

Applications should be lodged via the on-line application form available from the Career Hub website
