The Mason Family Scholarship in the Communication of Science was established by descendants of Mary Jane and Thomas Mason to promote the communication of science in its broadest sense, with the intention of honouring the contribution of members of the Mason Family to education in England and Australia.
Recipients must be Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia undertaking study as a Commonwealth supported student and must remain enrolled on a full time basis in the approved program for which the scholarship was approved.
To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must be undertaking a Bachelor of Teaching with Bachelor of Science (double degree) or the Master of Teaching or Master of Education program of study at the University of Adelaide (students must have already completed a Bachelor's level program in Science, Agriculture or Natural Resource Sciences).
The Scholarship will provide assistance with education and living expenses for one year.
The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered.
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to academic merit and financial need. Academic merit for continuing students will be determined according to students' cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or equivalent scores.
Students in receipt of other University of Adelaide Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship.
