The George Boland Scholarship was established by Josephine Patricia Boland in memory of her husband, George. The scholarship is intended to foster the development of classically trained singers for postgraduate study at Elder Conservatorium of Music or elsewhere in Australia. The scholarship will be offered to one male and one female graduate in music with preference given to graduates of not more than five years standing by application closing date.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be undertaking postgraduate coursework or postgraduate research study in music at the Elder Conservatorium of Music or elsewhere in Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time basis
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic achievement
- The level of performances demonstrated at audition
- The nature of the proposed study
- The likely benefit to be derived by the scholar and the University
Important Information:
- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- At the end of tenure, the recipient is required to submit a written report
