The Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) Research Scholarship has been established to support exceptional students engage in advanced research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:

  • Be enrolled in one of the below listed programs and required courses:
    • Masters of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning 
      COMP SCI 7205A - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Research Project A in Trimester 3, 2024
      AND
      COMP SCI 7205B - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Research Project B in Trimester 1, 2025 

    • Master of Computer Science - semester 2, 2024 enrolment in:
      COMP SCI 7100A - Research Project Master Computer Science Part A 

    • Masters of Mathematical Sciences - semester 2, 2024 enrolment in:
      MATHS 7200A - Masters Project in Mathematical Sciences A OR
      MATHS 7200B - Masters Project in Mathematical Sciences B OR
      OR
      MATHS 7300A - Mathematical Sciences Masters Project A OR
      MATHS 7300B - Mathematical Sciences Masters Project B OR

    • Computer Science (Honours) - semester 2, 2024 enrolment in:
      COMP SCI 4015A - Computer Science Honours Research Project Part A 

    • Maths (Honours) - semester 2, 2024 enrolment in:
      MATHS 4005A - Honours Project in Mathematical Sciences A 

  • Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen, holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or international students (holding a valid study visa)
  • Be enrolled on a full time basis 
  • Satisfy Foreign Engagement Compliance Review requirements

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

  • Demonstrated academic excellence and strong potential for significant research contributions
  • Advanced capabilities in programming languages, familiarity with libraries and frameworks, deep learning and neural networks, and common statistical concepts.
  • Answers to questions on the application form

Important Information:

  • You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
  • The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
  • Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
